Everyone has an opinion, and I would love to get some feedback. That is the way that I learn what works (from a photgraphic or artistic perspective), and what does not. Below, I have posted five pictures that were taken of two Barn Quilts last weekend. Each shot is a little different, and everyone will have a favorite, or less favorite angle. Click on the picture to make it bigger.
These barns are near Newland, in Avery County, NC. The owner is Dr. Carter Wiseman, and the artist is Heidi Fisher. The Quilt Blocks are named C. Wiseman's Windwheel and Spizorinktum. If you want to see Spizorinktum being painted, go to fisherfolkart.com

Right under my nose...
I am thrilled to find out that my neighboring Alexander County has a Barn Quilt Project that is well under way. I had heard rumor of this, but it was not until tonight that this was actually confirmed to me. I am sure that this is common knowledge to anyone reading the local news, and now I can add them to my sidebar of Barn Quilt Websites. In the next few days I hope to contact the good folks at the Hiddenite Center and find out the size and scope of this project. I will be sharing that information with you as I find out more. I do notice on their website that they intend to digitally reproduce existing quilts that are in their collection.
